What’s new at the library?

Recent additions to the school’s library have expanded the availability of not only recreational media, but also academic resources. New features available at the Quad-Cities campus include displays of new and popular books, a growing collection of DVDs, and up-to-date periodicals.

The biggest addition has been to the library’s website, which now offers over 135,000 titles from the Ebsco eBook Collection. Using your MyBlackHawk login information or your library card gives you access to a multitude of databases and ebook collections.

Second year student Haley Gustafson says, “I’m always going to love the feel of a real physical book, but digital texts like ebooks are a tie for first.” Haley is one of the many students who utilizes the library as a quiet space to catch up on reading for classes.

Students are also able to use group study rooms. These rooms are available on a first come/first serve basis, seat four, and have a whiteboard wall.

Semester hours for the Quad-Cities campus are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. -7:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. -3 pm; hours for the East campus are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. -7:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. -2 p.m.
